David Cornick
After completing an NVQ Level III City and Guilds in Stonemasonry, Carving and Lettercutting from Weymouth College in 1998, I worked for A.F. Jones Stonemasons in Reading, Berkshire. During this time I worked with a variety of stone in the workshop producing detailed masonry and carving.
Valuable experience in sympathetic conservation techniques to the fabric of historical and ecclesiastical buildings and monuments was gained working for Nimbus Conservation Ltd. Techniques include the use of traditional lime mortars, shelter coating, mortar repairs and various cleaning techniques. Although currently based in the village of Clyst St George near Exeter, works have been undertaken to various historical buildings throughout the South, South West and the Channel Islands.
